Greetings
 
It's Jean Riley (now Thompson) writing in order to try to gather together as many people as possible who started at Tonbridge Girls' Grammar School in 1959 or joined our year at any point before we left in 1966. 
 
It's twenty years since we had our last reunion, so it seemed appropriate to organise a another one as it will be sixty years since we started in September 1959. 
 
I even have a copy of a clipping from the Courier marking our previous reunion, which I'll attach.  Unfortunately (or possibly fortunately!) the quality is so bad, that you might struggle to recognise anyone! 
 
In 1999 I was going to send out a booklet giving summaries of our lives from the time we left school up until that point.  A few people did get back to me.  I copied those summaries and waited for more.  I even wrote envelopes for everyone!  Once I realised there would be no more summaries, it was a little late to send them out.  Apologies!
 
Back to the present.  I have been in contact with Pippa Blackstone, who is Director of Development and Alumni Relations.   She is happy to sort out things at the school. 
 
We are hoping that the following will happen:
Reunion date: 5th October 2019
Venue: Tonbridge Grammar School 
Time: 14:00 to 17:00
 
There should be time to meet, see round the school, chat and have afternoon tea.  
 
I only have contact details for a few people and Pippa has a few more.  Twenty years ago, of course, it was postal addresses that I collected.  It would have been so much easier with the email addresses of today. 
 
I am hoping that each person I am sending this to will be able to forward the mail a few others, and so on.  In the end, we might reach enough interested people to get together a reasonable number.  
 
Please, if you are interested, would you drop me an email and I can add you to our list.  
 
If you receive this email and are NOT interested, it would still be useful if you responded to me.  I can then try to ensure that you don't receive any more emails after that!

Once we have an idea of whether there are enough people to make the reunion worthwhile, I'll send out more information.
