On the anniversary of Miss Joy Debney's birthday 31 March, we recognise and thank all our legators for the enduring impact of bequests to Tonbridge Grammar School.
You don't have to be a legator to attend the event.
About Joy Debney's Legacy Programme
When Miss Joy Debney passed away in 2017, she named Tonbridge Grammar School as the sole beneficiary of her estate worth £1.2m.
Joy had not prescribed how the funds should be spent. Her dear love of the School and her desire for each and every child to be able to reach their potential were in the minds of Rosemary Joyce Head Teacher and Chair of Trustees Nigel Stratton when decisions where made:
Half to seed fund priority capital facility upgrades. The School is currently finalising a masterplan to address priority facilities needs for accessibility, wellbeing, and Science curriculum delivery.
Half to be invested as an endowment to support bursaries and needs associated with wellbering. Debney Endowment Trust extends 16+ bursary support ensuring that students can fully access all that TGS offers, The Trust also funds additonal counselling and contributes to the costs assoicated with the School's ambitions to widen access to a TGS education via the Horizons Programme. The School is also grateful for donations including the Coen family, and the Beech family who are founder benefactors of the endowment trust.
Save the date and we can let you know what the plan for the day will be. You dont have to be a legator to join us!
With my best wishes
