TGS Careers Afternoon, Evening, 3 Minute Video. Wednesday 5 March 2025
We are enormously grateful to our volunteer alumni, parents carers, and friends of the School for your time and expertise. The passion you have for your field of work undoubtedly inspires the post school pathways and futures of our young people, including considering jobs which don't exist yet.
About the Careers Afternoon 2.30pm to 3.40pm For the first time this year we would like to offer students in Years 7 to 9, a series of careers related presentations during timetabled afternoon lessons. It may well be that a number of volunteers from the same area of work will sign up to talk to the students as a group.
About the Careers Evening 5.30pm to 7.30pm (Years 10 and 11 - 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Sixth Form - 6.30pm to 7.30pm). Situated in the open plan IBarn building, up to fifty volunteers from a wide variety of careers chat informally with students. They are encouraged to talk to as many people as time allows, sparking imaginations and options for their own informed post school decisions and plans.
3 Minute Video Recording We invite volunteers to provide a short recording which will offer students a snapshot to further expand their ideas. A suggested content of the recording is: Who you are; what you do; what field of work; how you got to where you are now; what sparked your interest in the career you chose; anything you would change; advice about recruitment and apprenticeship opportunities in your sector.
