Welcoming alumni back to Tonbridge Grammar School forms a key part of the ‘Languages at University Programme’, a wide range of enrichment events that provide students in years 10, 11 and 12 with the opportunity to learn more about the study of languages at university, courses available, studying languages abroad and wider university life.
Last November Lydia, currently reading German and French at the University of Cambridge, came to talk about the year out she is spending in Berlin as part of her degree and the benefits of completing a work placement abroad while also studying.
In February Annemarie, currently studying a French and German degree in France, came to talk to us about living and studying abroad and the unique mix of subjects that Sciences-Po – a very selective and prestigious university – offers.
Both visits were incredibly well received by the students who had a lot of questions to ask. Some had not considered studying abroad or the opportunities it offers.
