Lets make more wonderful music together apart!

Please join our mini Spring funder for pop up screening to bring the orchestra apart together in the same room next term.

A new whole school orchestra!

Seizing a chance to create a cross-year whole school Orchestra for the first time this academic year, seventy young string, wind, brass and percussion players came together to produce and record an arrangement of Delia Derbyshire’s ‘Theme from Dr Who’. We felt this particularly pertinent to celebrate the work of this largely unsung female composer during Women’s History month 2021.

Working remotely under the expert guidance of Mr Hayward (Head of Music), our young musicians entered into the ‘out of this world’ spirit of the TV show; rehearsing, producing and filming audio, video and ultimately creating a full performance from the confines of their own homes.

Everyone involved has learned valuable new skills, and proved that, with clever use of technology, even the joy of large-scale ensemble music making is possible under lockdown.

Can you help our musicians?

Please join our mini Spring holiday crowdfunder for a Virtually Together Music Orchestra next term

Just 10 gifts of £80 or 20 gifts of £40 - or other gifts or any size! - will help pay for the pop up screening needed to bring our young musicians together next term in the same room!  A gift will Gift Aid will also help reach the target even faster.

Please pledge your gift to Music on the gift form (link below).

You will be directed to the bank details for your gift. If you are a parent of TGS use the bank account rather than parentpay (where we incur additional transaction charges)
