Briillant! Class of 2007 Luke's MND Awareness Hadrian's Wall Challenge

Brilliant news shared with us by Luke's mother on 18 June 2024.

"Luke and his team completed his MND  Hadrians Wall challenge at 5.25 on Saturday.  A fantastic achievement.
A big thank you every one for the support, encouragement and donations.
As I write this, the total sits at £40,000 plus, with more pledged.
Just as we finished the group photo at the finish, it poured with rain, we have been so lucky with the weather.
Although the midges had their revenge!
Luke and all the walker, the core group and the numerous friends from school, university and work, who join the walk from the UK and abroad, deserve a medal.  Especially Luke and Kate.
Thank you again.
Luke, Kate, Ian and Barbs

Class of 2007 Luke's MND Awareness Hadrian's Wall Challenge

8th June 2024 – 15th June 2024

Today, we come together as a TGS Community to support Class of 2007, Luke.

Luke was in the Sixth Form at Tonbridge Grammar School in 2007 and his friends will remember him for laying a lawn in the corridor on leavers day, strutting the catwalk and helping to organise the up-cycling of school books for Rwanda Action.

Having been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year, he has set himself the challenge of walking the 84 miles of Hadrian’s Wall, to raise funds for two Motor Neurone Disease Charities, ‘My Name’5 Doddie Foundation’ and ‘Motor Neurone Disease Association’.

Luke Hames-Brown's story is here.

Since his days at TGS, Luke has married Kate, worked for the NHS for 12 years and enjoyed being a GP, as well as an active medical member of both Mountain Rescue and Lowland Search and Rescue and the Medic on an expedition to Mongolia.

We want to help.

With our very warmest wishes
