TGS Chapter Shazanna Class of 1997
I am writing in response to the TGS120 request.
School dates: 1990 - 1997 Mrs Carey was Headmistress, I think we were the first year she was Head. Shazanna Safdar-Karim (nee Shazanna Safdar).
Memories of school. Mrs Carey was a wonderful Head. Teachers that stood out were Mrs Clark, Mrs Williams, Mrs Derrrick and Mrs Carpenter. Mrs Clark believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, she gave me the support and confidence to apply to Cambridge University where I read Law. One teacher can impact your life, and Mrs Clark was exceptional.
Hobbies, passions and milestones you are most proud of during your TGS years. I loved taking part in LAMS and then becoming a LAMS Leader (despite the stench of sweaty feet as we removed shoes to enter the Drama studio - Drama was a fantastic lesson and club) as well as working on the School Magazine as Publicity Prefect. Fond memories of ski trips to Austria.
Hobbies, passions and career milestones you are most proud in the years since you left the school. Reading (thank you Mrs Alridge for inspiring the passion by offering a broad curriculum and fun lessons). Continue to work in Law as General Counsel.
Tell us about the mark that TGS has made on you. Strong academic education.
Kind regards,
Shazanna
