Why did you choose Economics at TGS?
I chose Economics because I was fascinated by big social and macroeconomic issues andhow decisions are made, especially growing up during the financial crisis.
Where did you go next?
I took a gap year, studied PPE at Durham University, and joined the HM Treasury graduatescheme. I completed a Master’s in Economics at Cambridge, returned to HM Treasury towork on macroeconomics and housing spending.
What do you do now?
I’m just finishing my role at HM Treasury, about to start a career break to work in the Ugandan central bank as an ODI Fellow.
What did studying Economics at TGS give you?
I developed critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills that I still use every dayin advising ministers and senior officials on spending decisions.
Why Economics at TGS for students choosing now?
Economics gives you the tools to understand how societies make decisions and to tacklethe major economic challenges of the future.
