Meet our Latin Classicist Eleanor Class of 2025

Why did you choose Latin at TGS?​

I fell in love with Latin from the start, when I began studying it in Year 7, as I enjoyed the problem-solving of translation. The teaching staff instilled their passion upon me, and my love for the Classical world has continued to grow!​

​Where did you go next and what are you doing now? ​

I am in my first year at Cambridge, Fitzwilliam College, studying Classics BA (Hons)​

​What did you get from studying Latin at TGS? ​

I gained a strong passion for the Classical world, and improved my problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as my time management.​

The skills I have obtained from my time at TGS have perfectly prepared me for my degree, and I continue to use and build upon them daily.​

​Why Latin at TGS for students choosing now?​

Studying Latin provides so many transferrable skills that can be used for various pathways in the future. Plus, the Classical world is an incredibly interesting subject to learn about, and the Latin department at TGS is inspiring.
