Meet our Linguist Jessica Class of 2015
First Class Master ofArts with Honours,ScandinavianStudies and Spanish
Where did you go after TGS?
I studied Scandinavian Studies and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh, including asemester abroad in Bergen, Norway and another in Salamanca, Spain.
What do you do now?
I now live and work in Norway, where I use Norwegian every day at work and with myhusband’s family (we got married in Edinburgh just a couple of weeks ago actually!).
Professionally, I’m a Customer Success Manager and have led an international CustomerSuccess team in the sports and ticketing industry, which involved travel across the UK,Ireland, and Scandinavia. I now work as a CSM in a healthcare tech company (essentiallywithin the IT/SaaS world) where are clients are the equivalent of the NHS in Norway.
Why Spanish at TGS for students choosing now?
I’ve always been interested in languages, but that interest was definitely nurtured at TGS. Istill remember loving Spanish from my very first class in Year 7. Studying languages atuniversity felt like a way to open more doors when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, andit truly has. My language skills have shaped my career path, enabled me to live abroad, andgiven me confidence in both international work and personal life.
